I'm using photomatix pro to process the HDR the newest version.July 2018 – Update review of the top 20 best HDR software used for creating high dynamic range (HDR) photographs. I am currently working on an update to this post.

I shoot 5 bracketed shots (-4, -2, 0, +2, +4) ISO 100 and appropriate white balance. I wouldn't like to have 40 or so to work from every houseĪnd the second image done just as the first:. Previous attempt below using 'ReLight' in Oloneo. (DxO used for fish-eye distortion correction and perspective adjustment.) Distortion removal was the last step - not the first!

Tried a simple HDR from above three files in Oloneo, and used the darkest to make a mask for windows and altered external exposure and colour balance separately in CS6 to taste. I got best quick results by shooting bracketed raws, and then using LR/Enfuse to do the fusing - LR/Enfuse uses Lightroom as its host and Enfuse as the main exposure fusion engine. However on the few times when I have done it for personal projects, I have used HDR fusion methods (as opposed to tone-mapping). I don't have time for lengthy reply, and nor do I do commercial real estate photography. That was a VERY long time ago, I know, and I had the option of 5 x 4 cut film on a Speed Graphic but depth of field was the problem with that whereas 21mm on a 35mm frame barely needed focusing! Personally, and I used to do estate agent photography in the 1960's (film of course) without the aid of PP except dodge and burn, so my money went on a good rectilinear 21mm lens as distortion correction was a no go! A respectable HDR or even Tone Map should suffice with another bracketed shot to deal with the exterior lighting and colour. I really think potential buyers won't be worrying about exterior white balance too much. You could perform colour correction for interior using a window mask, made from inverting 4788 for example. ReLight requires same shutter speed and f number to work.Ĭomments: Hope you have automatic lens distortion correcting software. Using ReLight in Oloneo (after tweaking Exif shutter speed). Of course had to do drastic distortion correction (using DxO) to get final result below which seemed fairly natural, YVMD:. Intermediate images and comments shown below final effort. Then, using the first attempt and changing its Exif shutter speed to 1/60th to match that of 4788 (darkest) image to use 'ReLight' in Oloneo so as to alter colour balance independently to produce RL image.

Now if I can just make it look good.Īs an experiment, I used 4788, 47 to produce a 1st rough HDR in Oloneo. My biggest client has me doing 40 shots or so per house twice a week (that's 200 bracketed shots) and would take hours and hours and hours. I realize using flash and hiding them in each room is a much better technique, but it's also much more time consuming and no one around here wants to pay my rates for that extra time. I was wondering if anyone could take some of my bracketed shots here and show me what you can do with them! I also included my edits in this dropbox folder to show you what I mean how bad they are.

The other issue is detail in carpets and such - the HDR makes the carpets look "dirty". In the original jpegs it's not bad but the HDR really seems to amplify it. The main issues are the color temperatures from lights, either light coming in the windows are too blue or lights from other rooms are too yellow. I don't know if I'm using the wrong settings or just shooting wrong but they come out looking like carp. I'm using photomatix pro to process the HDR the newest version.
